Red Capia pepper (Capsicum annuum) is a premium sweet pepper variety renowned for its elongated, flat shape and vivid red color, achieved after full ripening. Typically measuring between 16–22 cm in length with a uniform caliber of 3–5 cm in width, Capia peppers feature thick, firm flesh and a high dry matter content, making them ideal for both fresh consumption and industrial processing. Their glossy skin and low seed count contribute to an attractive appearance and easy handling during production and export.

Cultivated primarily in Mediterranean and continental climates, Red Capia peppers thrive in well-drained, nutrient-rich soils with optimal growing temperatures between 22–28°C. The fruit is harvested at peak maturity, ensuring maximum color intensity and natural sweetness. Post-harvest, the peppers are carefully graded, sorted, and packaged to meet international quality standards such as GLOBALG.A.P. and HACCP, ensuring freshness, food safety, and traceability throughout the supply chain.

Applications and Markets: Red Capia peppers are widely used in the food industry for roasting, drying, and paste production, as well as in the manufacture of pepper flakes and sauces. They are also popular in household and catering markets for grilling, stuffing, or salad use due to their rich flavor and vibrant color. With their excellent shelf life, consistent quality, and versatile applications, Red Capia peppers are in strong demand across Europe, the Middle East, and North America for both retail and industrial buyers.
